a valentine’s day supper

the day of the bridal fair in independence, nick came along to help me set up. my mom came and helped me all day again, so her and dad came down and met us for lunch. while me and mom were at the show, the boys ran to waterloo to menards and then back to my aunt and uncles (who live in independence) to play some cards. when me and mom got done with the show we headed to my aunt and uncles for supper.

my aunt kaye is the cutest, most creative lady ever. she always goes over the top for holidays (like set’s up 10+ christmas trees! which i adore!!) so i didn’t expect anything less when we showed up yesterday. she left one of her trees up and decorated it for valentines day! she also prepared a wonderful supper! along with that supper was this adorable place setting that she made for each of us!

we topped the cake with raspberries she had frozen from her garden last summer, they were so darn good i could have eating the whole bowl full!

here is her tree. after dessert she shut the lights off so we could see it glow! of course every little thing on that tree is either reused or she got a great deal on! we had a great time catching up and laughing a ton! it was a great little night to kick off the season of love!
